Brand Spotlight: Marie Oliver

May 7, 2021 · In: Size Inclusive Favorites, Small Businesses, Style, Women

The first time I saw a Marie Oliver piece was on my friend Sarah Tucker. She’d wear beautiful dresses, skirts, and shirts unlike any I’d ever seen, and I’d gush about how much I loved them, and each time she’d say “it’s Marie Oliver!”  One browsing session on their website later and I was hooked! It’s easy to see that their clothes are special and I think you’ll be just as amazed as I was by the prints, embroidery, details and thoughtful silhouettes stand out in an incomparable way.

And it makes sense, because the design and execution of this brand comes from the heart. The duo at the helm of this Greensboro, NC based brand are Sarah Doggett Evenson and her husband Peter. Sarah’s love for rich cultural experiences and passion for interior design are evident in their pieces. And now you can shop this American brand in over 250 stores and online.

I was so delighted earlier this year when they sent pieces to try and I could see for myself that their XL was an option for me. I recently got to tour the newly refreshed Gasparilla Inn and Club and shot some looks, so I’m going to show you 4 current pieces you can shop that are high quality, well made, uniquely stylish pieces.

THE BRYER DRESS

The Breyer Dress is pretty, feminine and best of all, easy to wear! No zips or buttons, it just slips right over my head. I love the berry colored lattice design with pops of green, and the puff sleeves are the perfect length.

JOURNEY BLOUSE

I’m a navy fanatic so this one was an easy choice. The dramatic sleeves with the lattice cut out details are so unique but still reads classic to me. I paired it with some white jeans, but I think it’d be so cute tucked into a fun skirt! It also comes in a crisp white option.

STORI BLOUSE

The happy paisley print on this number is an immediate mood lifter. The bright colors play together nicely and the ruffling at the neck is a subtle but meaningful detail. Like all of the Marie Oliver clothes I’ve tried, this one feels effortless but put together. This top comes in three other prints right now.

EMILIA EMBROIDERED BLOUSE

The first blouse I ever tried on from Marie Olive and I knew right away out of the packaging that this shirt is special! The embroidery is incredible and it feels like a statement without being overworked or over done. There is a newly added version of this in white with pinks, yellows, and oranges that is another great option! But you know how I feel about blues!

These are all AMAZING on you!! Especially loving that last embroidered blouse. There’s a local to me boutique that carries their line, I’ll have to check it out. I’ve wondered if I could make it work, too!
