Lindsey’s story

Hey there! My name is Lindsey Underwood. I am going into my fourth year teaching middle school math in Green Cove Springs, Florida. At the end of last year, I was informed that I would be teaching two new preps for students! For this upcoming year, I am going back to basics with needing index cards (studying), red pens (visualize errors), and good ol candy to help with participating! Since I teach math, copy paper and CANDY is a huge need throughout the school year. Lastly, I am driving recognition with students this year. • Title I School
  • 10+ Years Teaching Experience

sabine’s story

I am starting year twelve of teaching high school math in Asheville! I work in the most diverse school in our district, with students representing up to 82 countries some years! That allows for amazing interactions to happen, but also creates a lot of barriers to overcome. I work hard to make my classroom a safe space for everyone and to help build confidence in math skills. It is hard to focus on math when many of my students don’t have reliable housing, access to feminine care, and are hungry at all times. I need help taking care of my students!

  • 8th to 12th Grade
  • 10+ Years Teaching Experience

Stefanie’s story

Hello! I teach 10th, 11th, and 12th grade. This year I am moving into a new classroom and trying to make it feel like a room students want to be in. I like to have posters of books we read on the wall and give the students small rewards like stickers or candy for a job well done on an assignment. Sadly our curriculum has moved away from having texts with novels in it so it is up to the teachers to provide books since often times students aren’t able to purchase them. Thank you for any support you can give!

I am teaching the future of the fashion industry! (And they are awesome!) and would love your support to create meaningful, authentic learning experiences.

I love creating a safe and nurturing classroom for my students, as well as making learning fun! I love hearing that students want to come to my class!! Also, because I am not a regular classroom teacher, my students do not bring any supplies. Last year, I was able to get a few supply items from the counselor (one box of 64 crayons, pencils, and five pairs of scissors), but anything else that was needed, I had to buy myself. My students and I would greatly appreciate any contributions to our classroom. Thank you so much!

Hi, my name is Tali and Im a highschool teacher. I need hygiene products, school supplies, nutritious snacks and clothes for my closet I leave open to my highschoolers to take as they need. There is nothing worse then needing one of those things and not having access to it. Sometimes they use them in school and sometimes they take it home to use as they need. I know this may be unconventional to some but i have seen first hand the benefit and help it has been for my students. I also am a big proponent of reading and try to get the kids to read by any means necessary. It really helps their vocabulary, comprehension and expands their academic horizons.

Hi! I’m an elementary Speech Language Pathologist for the Guilford County Schools! I’ve been at the same title one school for 10 years this year and have never received funding to update materials. My students are the best. They come from about 10 different countries, many refugees. Many of the rest are products of generational trauma that we are working tirelessly to help them break the cycle. We do such great work together with what we have but these new materials would help keep my practice research based and continue to maximize engagement. Thank you so much!

roxy’S story

Hey everyone, Thank you for taking your time to look at my pre k classroom wishlist. Things have not been easy these past few years especially since Covid and any help that you can contribute will really elevate the teaching and atmosphere of the classroom. I want to provide a safe and warm environment for my students. There is so much we buy as teachers from our own money so any support would be a blessing. My precious little students rely on me do much, for more than the “typical” things that we expect as teachers. I just want to give whatever I can and hopefully send them on a upward positive trajectory in the grades ahead of them. Thank you so much!
