I discovered the brand at one of my favorite stores in Dallas, St. Michael’s Women’s Exchange (situated in the iconic Highland Park Village shopping center). My first pair of earrings were gold coins. I remember choosing these specifically because they reminded me of the gold coin necklace my mom often wore.
Since my first shopping experience, their selection has continued to expand, and so has my personal collection. But even as they’ve grown, they’ve remained true to their goal of bringing heritage quality to everyday statement pieces. Susan Shaw jewelry is handmade in Texas, and is either 24 karat handcast gold-plated or sterling silver-plated. And they use a variety of freshwater pearls and semi-precious stones that I personally love, like turquoise, lapis, malachite, and more.

So if you’re local, I encourage you to visit the Church of the Redeemer shop on Palm Avenue to browse in-person sometime! My girls love their delicate gold crosses, and I have quite an array of cross variations myself. Many of these aren’t your standard pieces of cross jewelry. There are statement necklaces with stones like turquoise and pearl and a wide variety of cross earrings.

The rich quality of Susan Shaw jewelry has always stood out to me. I love that so many of the designs tell a story of adventure, travel, and curiosity. Her coin collection will always be a favorite of mine. I also adore her pieces that have a coastal influence with seashells, coral, and touches of Mediterranean flare.
