Family Vacation at the Eau Palm Beach Resort & Spa

July 31, 2024 · In: Florida, Travel

Disclosure: While our room at The Eau Palm Beach Resort and Spa was hosted during this stay, the review below reflects my personal opinions and experience. It is a privilege to be able to partner with resorts and destinations that I can enthusiastically endorse. And above all else, I value your time and trust, and I strive to ensure my content reflects that priority.

“Mom, the ocean is right there!” Catherine gasped, realizing the shimmering blue expanse in the distance was, in fact, the Atlantic, as we checked into the Eau Palm Beach. I love that my Florida girls still delight in the beauty of it. And they’re right, of course, it’s so special to stay at a resort where the beach is your backyard. The gentle crashing of the waves became the soundtrack of our stay, and we left feeling as though we’d had a true vacation. When we’re traveling with kids, even for a weekend, it’s all about comfort and convenience. The Eau checked these boxes and more. It’s hard to choose just one favorite feature of this resort and spa, so today I’m excited to share all of my favorite parts!

Location

Being right on the beach during this stay made our life so easy. We could bop back and forth from the pool to the sand. And an attendant was always ready to set up chairs on their private beach and grab towels for us. And when we were ready for a poolside beverage or burger, they were there in an instant to take our order. This kind of convenience factor is key for us when selecting a hotel. This resort is removed enough from the hustle and bustle of Palm Beach that it feels like its own little world. We spent so much of our time snorkeling, shelling, and even just lounging. But, have no fear, it’s also close enough to easily pop over to Worth Avenue for shopping and dining.

Kids Programming

Eau Palm Beach completely reimagined their kids club (for ages 3-12), which is now called Loggers. From May 1 through September 30, this club area is complimentary. During the other months, it’s available for a fee, and it is entirely worth it. At Loggers, counselors supervise creative play with cutting edge technology. The space is basically been turned into a virtual playground!

The highlight of this kids club was definitely the beam technology, which was like a fancy overhead projector that illuminates traditional games, like hopscotch and whack-a-mole. It also projects all sorts of interactive races. The girls loved the huge “Sketch Aquarium” where kids can “feed” the fish or color their own sea creature and watch it come to life. They also spent time in the mini theater where they watched plays, performances, and movies, and played charades. There was even a magic mirror that doubles as a Photo Booth where kids can take home a photo souvenir.

Snack Time

Drinks and snacks were included at Loggers, which was wonderful. While we don’t have any food allergies, I asked the staff about accommodations for others, and they assured me they do have safe options for children with dietary restrictions. In addition to the snacks at Loggers, the girls made daily trips to the resort’s ice cream parlor, Melt. This was absolutely a highlight for Margaret and Catherine! I was shocked when Catherine didn’t order her usual chocolate ice cream, but instead, the lemon sorbet. She swears by this flavor, and I tend to agree. I had the Passion Fruit and Mango sorbet and both were delicious. In a stroke of genius, Eau Palm Beach also built a splash pad right next to Melt. So after indulging in a cone of creamy goodness, kids can run through the water and wash it all off!

Traveling with Dogs

Wanting to travel with fur babies? I have never seen a more dog-friendly resort in my life! They have complimentary shaded strollers and miniature cabanas for your pup by the pool. They even have a complimentary menu of dog treats! The girls were in heaven seeing so many well behaved dogs at the hotel. And as much as they love our kitty cats, they have been begggggggging for a dog.

Amenities

When traveling, one of the biggest buzzkills is getting somewhere and feeling like every little thing costs an extra fee. Nothing ruins a vacation faster than realizing you’re doomed to days of $8 bottles of water or a surprise resort fee that barely includes anything! That’s not the case at the Eau. Valet parking is included, there’s no resort fee, bottled water is regularly restocked in your room, and you’ll even find the cutest canvas pool bag to use right away and bring home as a souvenir. Forgot sunscreen? Grab it by the pool. From classes in the fitness center to bikes, snorkeling gear, kayaks, stand up paddle boards, and more, it’s all included. Kids five and under even eat for free at most Eau restaurants with the purchase of an adult entree!

Five-Star Dining

The more we travel with our girls, the more we’ve learned to appreciate luxury that feels accessible, not stuffy. This describes Eau Palm Beach perfectly. Even at Polpo, their upscale Italian restaurant, the kids were welcomed with open arms and endless Shirley Temples.

While there are so many delicious spots to try in Palm Beach, it was nice and convenient to enjoy a five-star dinner right downstairs. If you ever visit this resort and you see the lasagna or the carbonara on the special menu, go for it! I also loved their burrata and stone fruit salad.

And Polpo provided so much more than just a delicious meal. While dining, we were able to watch the sunset from our table on the terrace, (which is air conditioned, by the way!) I also enjoyed the Broadway-quality piano entertainment and the best espresso martini I’ve ever had in my life. The staff even brought over a purse stand for the girls’ little bags, which they got a kick out of! All of these small details go such a long way.

A Resort for Any Vacation

As I’ve started to share our trip on my Instagram stories, I’ve been fielding questions about whether this is more of a family resort or an adult getaway location. Curtis and I actually visited the Eau back in 2021 without the girls, and we enjoyed it thoroughly. With the quiet adult pool, the award-winning spa, and all the happenings in Palm Beach, it’s a great spot for any type of trip – romantic getaways, girls trips, or multi-generational family vacations. From standard rooms to oceanfront suites, there’s a perfect set up for whatever kind of trip you’re looking for. They even have an exclusive Lilly Pulitzer-themed room in partnership with the iconic Palm Beach brand!

Final Thoughts

After visiting the Eau Palm Beach for a second time, I continue to have nothing but great things to say about this resort. We had a wonderful vacation, and I can’t wait to return again, hopefully sooner rather than later!

What do they put in the water in Texas? Possibly t What do they put in the water in Texas? Possibly tequila 😆 but in all seriousness, I lived in Dallas from 2005, to fairly recently when we moved back to Florida in 2018. And even though I'm a born and raised Floridian, so much of my heart feels like Texas is my home. Margaret however is a Texan by birth and she tells everyone who will listen, which seems pretty Texan of her (in the best way).

We're here with the girls this week, seeing our special people, and of course I packed two of my favorite Texas brands, @sunshinetiendashop and @susanshaw that are both lead by stylish and talented women.
