It all started with what we affectionately call the sisterhood of the traveling dress. When Sabrina Chazen and I met up last year for a girls trip at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach, I’d packed my Alayna style dress from Fanm Mon. She ended up wearing it for a Tuckernuck luncheon we attended celebrating Sarah Bray Bermuda, and we marveled at how despite it being made to my exact measurements, it looked perfectly meant-to-be on her. Fast forward a few months and after she was approached about collaborating on a capsule collection, I was touched when Sabrina suggested we design the collection together. Since this fall, we’ve been working with Fanm Mon founder, Sophia Demartus, and her team to reimagine existing silhouettes and design our own with their iconic embroidery details. As plus-size shoppers ourselves, Sabrina and I are thrilled that this capsule represents sustainably crafted couture for women of all shapes and sizes. While the brand offers standard sizing of XXS-XXL, their made-to-measure option for extended sizes is available at no additional cost. ABOUT OUR COLLECTION
Fanm Mon is a Haitian phrase meaning mountain woman, but as Sophia shares with us, “… the spirit of Fanm Mon is universal. Fanm Mon signifies a woman – a nurturer – who is intertwined with nature. She is the type of wonder woman who can smell the rain before it comes, and who creates beauty from her natural surroundings.” To honor this within our capsule collection, we drew inspiration from our respective coastal hometowns, reflected in the embroidery of our three signature motifs: Lido Lemons, Sarasota Stars, and Coastal Cane. The five women’s dresses, available in multiple colorways of crisp poplin and gauzy Swiss dot, are designed to take you anywhere from momentous celebrations, to milestone family photos, to the suitcase of your honeymoon, and more! But Sabrina and I both firmly believe that life shouldn’t be spent waiting to use “the good stuff”. Like fine china, heirloom jewelry, or a decadent dessert, we say enjoy it now! As excited as we are to spot one of our dresses on a mom-to-be at her baby shower or in someone’s suitcase for a special trip to Capri, we also can’t wait to see y’all wearing this collection in your day-to-day life. The dresses pair just as well with heels and a clutch as they do with your favorite pair of sneakers and cross-body purse for bopping around town.

LIDO LEMONS
Meet our collection’s sun-drenched, floral motif featuring embroidery of blossoming citrus branches, Lido Lemons. Available in three different silhouettes: The Amity, The Selby and The Lilly. The Amity ($378) is our take on the dress that inspired it all, with an elegant fit and flare silhouette and embroidered, ruffled sleeves designed to be worn off or on the shoulder, while The Selby ($339) is our statement sleeve moment, with our vivid embroidery running from the shoulder to the wrist. She is designed to be a tailored sheath dress, with a slight A-line flare for a figure-flattering touch. We added a scalloped belt with a contrasting scalloped edge that can be worn on the dress, in your hair, or woven through your favorite hat. If The Amity would be voted most-likely-to-be-worn-to-a-luncheon, and The Selby perfect to pull for a ladies night out to grab drinks or play Mahjong, then The Lilly ($199) is her easy-going little sister. Throw her on, slide on your sandals, and meet up with friends for an impromptu afternoon yap session followed by hitting up your favorite thrift shops.

SARASOTA STARS
When we realized our capsule would be launching at the start of summer, we both jumped headfirst in to the nostalgia of parades and cookouts drenched in red, white and blue. Our love for all things Americana runs deep and we hoped to bring that to life through a whimsical interpretation, landing somewhere between the winking stars of the summer nights sky and the bright burst of a sparkler. Sarasota Stars is available on The Geraldine ($379) named after Sabrina’s beloved grandmother. The Geraldine is easy going and especially flowy – perfect for those summer months when you want to reach for something that isn’t fussy, but can take you from the pool to your dinner reservation. Her mini me option is The Sissy ($139) designed as a flexible and comfortable style that our three girls have worn for years – even our tweens. Moms know that the hand smocked neck and bishop style body with flutter sleeves means it is more likely to grow with your little one. I have styles like this that our girls have worn as dresses and now can wear as tunic tops! COASTAL CANE
From basket purses to rattan lounge chairs with cabana striped cushions, we think everything is better with a touch of wicker! The Coastal Cane embroidery is found on The Elise, named after my own Mom and sister. The Elise ($279) is an A-line swing dress with embroidery on the hem as well as the three quarter length sleeves. She has covered buttons and hits above the knee! We have no doubt that The Elise will be the perfect addition to your resort wear closet and can see her paired with anything from sneakers to espadrilles! The Beau is another mini match, named after Sabrina’s precious son, available in the same colorways as The Elise with vertical Coastal Cane embroidery details. Like The Sissy, The Beau ($58) comes in standard sizing from a 2T to an 11/12, but can be customized and extended at no additional cost by emailing sales@fanmmon.com
