One of the most common styling inquiries I receive is for size inclusive swimwear! Whether or not you’re a plus size shopper as I am, the search for a bathing suit can feel daunting for anyone. Each year, my swimwear recommendations remains one of my most popular posts and I hope that this year’s recommendations are helpful once again. Additionally, many of the ones from previous years are still available!
I’ve rounded up some of my favorite swimsuits and cover-ups of various price points and styles, along with a few helpful tips for shopping size-inclusive swimwear. Many of the styles I’m sharing today are pieces I already own and love, or they’re similar to ones I’ve purchased from the same brands—so I can personally vouch for their quality and fit. But of all the tips I can give – and that I try to remind myself – is that every body is a bathing suit body. As understandable and relatable as the hang-ups we feel, the very worst consequence isn’t to bare our bulges and cellulite in public, but to miss out on so many of life’s special moments because we can’t get out of our own head. So wear the suit, make the memories, and be kind to yourself.
Shopping for Swimwear
As a born and raised Florida girl I’ve spent countless hours shopping for and trying on swimsuits. Over time, I’ve learned what works for me and what doesn’t. I’ve shared these tips before, but they continue to ring true—so I’m sharing them again!
- Order duplicates. If you find a style that makes you feel comfortable and confident, don’t hesitate to buy it in multiple colors or prints. I’ve done this many times and have always been grateful I did.
- Always pack a long-sleeve UPF swim shirt in your bag. I do this for a few reasons. First, sun protection is my top priority. While I have plenty of sleeveless one-pieces, I always keep a long-sleeve swim shirt on hand for full-sun moments. Second, I’ve actually found that long-sleeve swim options are cool and comfortable in the heat—so I tend to reach for them on especially hot days.
- Did you know you can wear a bra underneath long-sleeve swimsuits that don’t have built-in support? Some brands like Stylest make official “aqua lingerie” (which I hope to try someday), but I also have regular bras that I reserve just for swimming. If you’re not as busty, you might be able to layer a bikini top underneath instead. But if you’re fuller up top like I am, you know that finding a supportive bikini top is a whole journey in itself!
- Return when necessary. When shopping for size-inclusive swimwear online, I highly recommend embracing the try-and-return strategy. Order multiple sizes, colors, and styles when possible—and return what doesn’t work. Having a variety to try on gives you a better shot at finding something you love, rather than ending up with nothing at all.
2025 Size-Inclusive Swimwear Favorites
Now that we’ve covered some shopping tips, let’s dive into my favorite styles for the season!
As I mentioned above, when I find a swimsuit or cover-up that I love, I tend to buy it in multiple colors. Many of the styles I’m sharing here are personal favorites—I can personally vouch for their quality, comfort, and fit. The best part? A lot of these pieces come back year after year in fresh prints and colors!

Classic One-Piece Swimsuits
If you’re not sure where to start, you honestly can’t go wrong with a classic one-piece swimsuit. Some of my most-worn swimsuits are solid-color, one-piece styles.
Just because it’s simple doesn’t mean it has to be boring! Look for small details that make it stand out—like a square neckline, eyelet sleeves, or a flattering drape detail. You can also add personality with a fun cover-up or sarong to give your look a little extra flair.

Chic Black Swimsuits
Everyone needs a LBS (Little Black Swimsuit). It’s timeless, flattering, and there are so many cute styles out there that include fun, thoughtful details. And nothing is chicer than a great black and white moment! It’s giving “Being young and beautiful is not a crime, you know!” a la Meredith Blake in the Parent Trap.
One of my favorites is this long-sleeve zip-up suit with built-in UPF 50+. It’s super comfortable and provides an extra layer of sun protection—both of which are top priorities for me when it comes to swimwear. In this particular style, I don’t need any additional bust support.
Other chic black options I’m loving right now include:
- A classic side-tie wrap style (under $100!)
- A ruched one-piece with a flattering v-neckline (affordable and flattering!)
- And a scoop-neck suit with a strappy back detail for a little extra flair

Long Sleeve Swimsuits
As I mentioned in my swimsuit tips above, I’m a huge fan of rash guards—especially if you’ll be spending all day in the sun. They’re comfortable, stylish, and offer that all-important extra layer of sun protection.
Some of my current favorites include:
- This crochet striped version that adds a touch of texture and style
- This long-sleeve wrap style with built-in UPF protection
- And this sporty blue and white printed suit that’s as fun as it is functional

Fun & Colorful Swimsuits
If you’re looking for a swimsuit that’s classic in style but with a little more fun, this wrap swimsuit is one of my favorites. I’ve had it for years, and I still love it just as much today as the first day I wore it. The shape and fit are wonderful—both comfortable and flattering. There are so many color options to choose from, and sizes go up to 22. I actually have it in multiple colors because I love it that much!
A few other bold and fun styles I’m loving right now include:
- This cherry and lemon print
- This right blue v-neck style
- And this bold Lilly Pulitzer print
