While I find they run true to size, I always order up if my measurements are on the cusp. Having a cute cover up makes all the difference in my book, and while the Ala Von Auersperg options are a splurge, they are such high quality and surprisingly versatile, which is why they’re a vacation MVP. I love layering mine over tank tops and slip dresses to get some bonus wear of them out so that they’re not just relegated to a poolside fit, but are also great for a dinner! Sunshine Tienda is launching a new set of wraps and hats very soon (you’ll be the first to know, I swear!) and their multicolored stripe pareo is my #1, but their current selection is awesome too if you’re looking for something right now! And I can’t forget to shout out the newcomer to the swim scene, Dondolo! They sent me their wrap to try and while I loved the scalloped edges, I was nervous it wouldn’t be generously sized enough to work on my plus-size figure. Turns out I didn’t need to fret, because it wraps and lays perfectly! Plus the performance fabric will be moisture wicking and wrinkle free which is a bonus I didn’t know I needed! Don’t forget your accessories – I’m an earrings – by – the – pool kind of gal which is absolutely one of my most high-maintenance tendencies, but I am what I am and that’s statement earring obsessed!

As light as I want to keep it, I know all too well that swimsuit shopping and getting ready for a day spent with “it all hanging out” can be a mixed bag of emotions.
